Coromandel – Auckland

Let’s go to the last stop of our journey. To Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand. As the crow flies, Auckland is not far from our current location. But since we’re on a peninsula, we have to go around the outside. A drive of about 200 km.

According to weather online, it is supposed to rain again today, but I think New Zealand did not want to let us leave like this 🙂 The clouds are rising, more and more pieces of blue sky can be seen! Quickly we get ready to take the chance to visit the famous beach Cathedral Cove.

It’s stopped raining all the time, but it’s still stormy … Wi-Fi is getting worse, probably everybody all over the resort is sitting in front of their devices, because being outside does not really entice you. We decide not to spend the whole day in the apartment again. Walking or hiking does not work, so we just drive by car.

Hm… a strange day, instead of cheerfully inspecting the beaches here, we are more or less stuck in the shack all day long, because outside it rains and storms continuously. A couple of hours is okay, but all day? Admittedly, it’s good to hang out a little bit, because the last few days have been quite exhausting, but I thought it would be a little different.

Rotorua – Coromandel

We are gradually approaching the end of our tour. Our current destination is the Coromandel peninsula in the north of the North Island. We will stay there for 4 nights to relax a bit before we return home after a short stopover in Auckland. The trail leads approx. 220 km first through the fertile region of the Bay of Plenty, then along the coast to Whitianga.
